“The team members is remarkable—they are extremely caring. They couldn’t be any nicer. It’s a great place to live.”
The Challenge
In 2017, Bill and Jean Licht were looking into moving into a Life Plan Community—he was 93 and she was 90.
“You can’t wait until it’s more difficult to make a change in life.”
How We Helped
Glenmeadow was hands down their first choice. “Here, everything is taken care of,” said Jean. “You don’t have to cook or clean or go to the market.”
Playing an important part in their decision was Glenmeadow’s stellar reputation and their resident friends’ recommendations. The couple had minor health concerns and they were seeking a community that nurtures mind, body, and spirit. “It was time to make the move to Glenmeadow before we needed a lot of care,” said Dr. Licht.
Before they moved to our campus, the Lichts had already known many of our residents—some of them had even been patients of Dr. Licht, a retired dentist. And Jean had frequented Glenmeadow to play bridge and mahjong here with friends. Glenmeadow was clearly the right place for them.
The Result
“We love the group activities and the great musical performances at Glenmeadow in Cotz Hall,” said Dr. Licht. Jean simply states, “We love it here and our family doesn’t have to worry about a plan for when we need care. The decision was made by us, in advance.”
Dr. Licht agreed: “The team members is remarkable—they are extremely caring. They couldn’t be any nicer. It’s a great place to live.”
